IMPACT: This lady is brainy, young, intelligent, humble, and outgoing! She is innovative and classic. I have met junior nurses, but she surpassed them all. I call her our small boss lady because she acts beyond her capacity. She is a young nurse with an adult brain.

She is the face of the Naija Nurses Forum. Full of innovative ideas that are aimed at transforming the nursing profession. She's our admin, and innovator in this community. Through her, we were placed on the world's digital map as she won the prestigious grant used to train over 500 nurses in digital health and how to maximize the use of social media. I celebrate your doggedness, hard work, and good morals today as we celebrate impactful nurses all over the world.

My colleagues, let's celebrate the digital nightingale of our time; Nr. Oghenefejiro Urhefe.

CELEBRATING NOBLE NURSES:

NAME: Nr. Joy Ojonile Agagwu Ojomugbokenyode

CURRENT ROLE: SENIOR NURSING OFFICER/CHARGE NURSE. An Admin of Naija Nurses Forum.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: She attended the FCT School of Nursing, Gwagwalada Abuja where she obtained the RN certificate, then proceeded to Grimard School of midwifery and got the RM certificates. Currently a student at the University of Derby, UK with a BSc Nursing (HONS) in view. Have attended several trainings with certificates in health-related nursing focused short courses, including online courses that certified her as an IELTS instructor by the Cambridge University.

IMPACT: Her biggest achievement in life is becoming a registered nurse.

Ojonile has worked as a nurse in private and government health sector in Nigeria with a vast experience in accident and emergency nursing, surgery and obstetrics, the last place of work being the General Hospital Kuje, FCT under then ministry of FCT health human services before relocating to the UK where she currently practice as a sister in the Early Pregnancy/Gynaecology Ambulatory units in one of the NHS Trusts in England. She does the following freely for nurses.
1. Mentorship: with the passion for mentorship and good nursing practice, she have got involved in student ministry with full participation and involvement in the New Generation wing of the Fellowship of Christian Nurses (FCN) Nigeria, as a onetime National Student President and all time exco.

She is compiling a book for the nursing student mentorship and guide through school, same to be released very soon.

2. A NANNM branch auditor and treasurer who ensured adequate management and accountability of the branch fund with great attention to the welfare of members while in office.

3. Immigration advise: Considering the plight of the Nigerian Nurses and our desire for fair renumeration, job security and safety of the registered nurse. Having worked in Nigeria health system but now relocated, she decided to share the vast knowledge she has in the immigration process for nurses who desire what they cannot have in Nigeria to relocate to countries where they can have their needs met, get job satisfaction and better life for themselves and families.
She is an expert in immigration advise especially to the United Kingdom.

To this effect, she taught free classes on IELTS with videos on her YouTube channel for easy access to everyone who desires it.

4. IELTS Sponsorship: She is currently running a sponsorship fund for the most qualified nurse to register for the IELTS exam with all expenses paid once every month and this is opened to all registered nurses which started in January 2022 and has seen 4 successfully registered and passed their exams. This service is to reduce the cost of relocation for the average nurse who earns very meagre salary and to help them achieve their dreams of relocation for greener pastures.

5. Counsellor & motivator to nurses and a guiding light to others.

HOBBIES: She love to write, cook, sing and dance
you must have had it bad to understand and appreciate when it is good.

Ojonile is a seamstress by training, a knitter, and a hairdresser. A complete polyvalent nurse who will stop at nothing while writing stories from her personal experiences to encourage others. Joy manages several social media platforms and has a group for people who are looking at finding their ways in life again, especially, those seeking second chances.
She is a Christian and believes in the saving power of Jesus.

NAME: NURSE Apata Banke

POSITION: CHIEF NURSING OFFICER

IMPACT: BANKE APATA is a promising and experienced trained Nurse who has served in all capacities in the health sector.
A social worker, Nurse/Midwife, and a Nephrology Nurse, who has also developed herself to obtain her Bachelor's degree in Nursing sciences. She holds a post-graduate diploma in social work and a master's degree in social work, (Health option).
Over the years, she has gotten experience in meeting patient care goals and can multitask health related care giving.
A goal-getter with the ability to ensure a drastic change in her profession.

Banke has featured in multiple projects that has to do with Health teachings, both in the community and in school settings.

She mentored students outside her Field.
Her search for greater ideas in the development of herself and creating better ground for her specialty field inspired her to generate the idea of Dialysis Technician's Training (DTT) and Dialysis machine repair training (DMRT) which has never been given any attention in the renal field.

She has taken her time to develop the curriculum guide and course details for the Renal technicians whom she fondly referd to as her friends team members.

A meek and humble lady with a golden heart!
In her quest to bring innovative ideas to her profession, She has written some papers for Media publishers like, The Posterity Media Health Platform and Health Lens platform, which she features in often. She has featured severally in the care for the elderly people, on voluntary basis with NGOs.

A Nurse per excellence with the ability to measure impact and the quest to explore more in different areas of development.

In the health care sector, she is contributing her quota to the building of the nation and assisting in unemployment programs for the jobless youths.

  • He has been training Nurses from 1974 to 2016 from School of Nursing Kano to Jigawa State College of Nursing & Midwifery where he was appointed the 1st Provost in 2012.

    Salele Abdul participated in the National Poliomyelitis Eradication Initiative as a Central Facilitator responsible for micro planning, training of teams, monitoring, data & vaccine management, and end- process evaluation in Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and Borno States of Nigeria for a period of four (4) years.

    He has also worked as an IMPACT+ Consultant Developing Health Systems in Katsina, Zamfara, Jigawa, Yobe and Niger states on behalf of Partnership for Reviving Routine
