Your Male or Female Child is Determined by Man Sperm

Unread post by Kunle Emmanuel »

Dear Nigerian Man, whether your child turns out to be a boy or a girl depends more on you than on the woman

Your sperms could either have the X or Y "sex gene"
A woman's eggs have only X "sex gene"

To make a boy, you need XY
To make a girl, you need XX

During ejaculation, between 40-150 million sperms are released into the vagina

Some carrying the X, others carrying the Y, swimming to the egg in the fallopian tubes of the woman.

Out of the millions that were released, only a few hundred comes close to the egg

Now the egg makes it way from the ovaries: the egg bank and makes it's way to the tubes, you know you gotta meet halfway if you want to get fertilized 😉

Remember the egg only has only the X waiting for whatever you give it.

Now the sperms are racing to meet it!
The egg lives for only 24 hours, while the sperms can live for about 5 days

And no! The sperms are not competing against each other to be the first to fertilize the egg

In fact, most of the work is done by the uterus. It helps the sperm to the fallopian tubes, towards the egg.

If an egg is fertilized by a sperm bearing X mark on its forehead l, it fuses with the X of the egg leading to a girl!

If it's the Y sperm that fertilized, you have a boy!

At times, there may be errors that may cause an extra sex chromosome to be added either an X or a Y,

But all in all, the man's sperm holds the key to the baby's gender

It's still a game of probability, a 50/50 probability, some people will promise you drugs/foods that increase the chances of a male child being born, but it's all fantasy

Hasn't been proven yet!

You must have heard before that if you have sex immediately before ovulation you might give birth to a boy, and a girl if days after.

But a high profile study has found that this is not entirely true!

There was no sex preference with regards to timing of sex, its a myth for now

And no sexual style or position will affect the sex of your baby.

If you like, be a missionary or an expert in the religion of Kamasutra.

It won't give you a boy or a girl.

Kindly share if there's any update.

Stop fighting and hating your wife for not giving you a particular baby you want; the sex of a baby is probably determined by what the man releases...

Sperm is the smallest cell in the male body
Egg is the biggest cell in the female body

Sperm is from Testes
Egg is from Ovary

Sperm moves
Egg stays in one place
Image
Sperm carries the XY so it determines the sex of a baby
Egg carries XX and doesn’t determine sex of a baby

Sperm is produced everyday & matures at about 64 days.
Egg; no new one is formed after birth

Sperm, more available
Egg, limited availability window

GAMETES
Differences btw male & female gamete
Gamete is what becomes babies at intercourse.

Male gamete is Sperm
Female gamete is Egg

Sperm, <15million, low count
Egg, 1 is enough

Sperm can live for up to 5-7days
Egg lives for 12-48 hrs

sperm dictates the sex of the fertilized egg. However, a lot of mutual factors contribute to gender, including as the egg's receptivity to the male's chromosomes. So if a couple has five girls, that doesn't necessarily mean it's the man's fault. You can blame a man for keeping his eyes glued to the TV during a conversation, but you can't pin this one on him. Both partners have some role in determining the sex of the offspring.

As many people know (or have heard), the sperm that carry male chromosomes (which will make a boy) can swim faster because they carry less genetic material and are lighter. So though male and female sperm have equal muscular power in their flippers, the lighter ones will travel faster (just like a smaller cyclist will go faster than a larger one, if all other things are equal, because there's less mass to move).

But even if the male sperm outrace the female sperm, the male sperm will die off if the egg isn't in proper position for fertilization, leaving the female sperm clear for landing. Although male sperm are faster, female sperm are like tortoises; they keep pushing ahead slowly, hanging out, and waiting a few days. To have a boy, having sex around ovulation is critical, or the female sperm will win.

Aside from timing it right (and praying), you can do little to influence gender during conception. Some couples may try copulating upside down or in other acrobatic positions because they've heard rumors that you can influence the gender of a child, but the process is more complex than that
