Sagir Nuhu: All praise are due to Allah, today I'm happy to announce the approval of long awaited internship program for Nurses by the National council of establishment (NCE), during its meeting that held in
Minna. We thank God for his infinite mercy, for this is a recent development to the Nursing profession and entire Nurses. Long live NANNM, long live GNAN, long live NUNSA, long live Nursing profession, long FR of
Nigeria.
THE FATHERS' DREAM HAS BEEN ACHIEVED
The fight for internship has been won. Many thanks to our fathers in nursing....when I say fathers, I mean nurses who during their undergraduate days fought tooth and nail despite strong opposition.
Men like, Sir Fedrike Ozu, comrade Oluwatuyi Ambrose , Omo Imafidon and comrade Odumosu Toba to mention a few.
I write this as a part 5 student of nursing who has witnessed this struggle since my 100level days. Students have died road traffic accidents in the bid to reach this goal.
Kudos to NANNM, UGONSA and the Present NUNSA national executives and congrats to all undergraduate nursing students in the country. This is definitely a move in the right direction.
Political activism is key towards the progress of any group and nursing is not an exception.
God bless NursingNigeria!
