Accredit Nursing Degree Programme - NANNM

Unread post by Naijanurse » Thu Jul 19, 2012 6:22 pm

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has called on the Federal Government to reconsider its decision and accredit the nursing degree programme which it earlier denied accreditation under the National Open University of Nigeria.

The association also wondered why out of the 31 programmes of NOUN, only Bachelor of Nursing Degree programme was denied accreditation.

In a statement by the association's National President, Lawal Hussaini Dutsinma and its General Secretary, George Ayua, the association stated, "this programme is very central to the development of the profession now than ever before especially with the current health policy of the federal government to create the Midwives Services Scheme (MSS) which allows Midwives to be posted to the rural areas."

Nursing is not just an ART, it has a heART. Nursing is not just a SCIENCE, but it has a conscience
