Is It Normal For Sperm and Semen To Leak Out Of The Vagina
Is It Normal For Sperm and Semen To Leak Out Of The Vagina
Unread post by Kareen »
Sperm leakage from the vagina is normal and to be expected when there is enough of the ejaculate. Sperm leakage means there is enough of the ejaculate. Most women notice some discharge immediately after sex and some think it's the cause of infertility. The fluid coming out of the vagina after his orgasm is a portion of the ejaculate.
But less than 5% of the ejaculate is actually sperm -- over 95% is made up of other fluids. Leakage of the ejaculate from the vagina is highly unlikely to prevent you from getting pregnant. In fact, it's totally normal for some of the ejaculate to come out of your vagina after intercourse.
If he ejaculates deeply inside you, then you can be sure that no matter how much of the ejaculate leaks out afterward, enough sperm will reach the cervical mucus. If you stay on your back for the suggested 15-20 minutes after intercourse, hips slightly elevated, this leakage of the ejaculate is usually not a cause of infertility.
It is probably a good sign that some ejaculate leaks out because it may mean that he is depositing his semen normally in your vagina and that there is enough of it.....but all in all

This phenomenon is 100% very normal and does not have an effect on your ability to conceive. We will talk about the probable reason why this happens in some women. In order to hit the point home, we need to get a little graphic, so bear with me.My husband and I are trying to have a baby, and this will be our first. I have read up on lots of info on how to get pregnant faster, so we are using the missionary position for best results, but I have noticed that after intercourse the sperm seems to come out. Is this normal? What can I do about it? Will it make our chances of conceiving less?
First of all, the ejaculate, also called “cum” (the stuff that comes out when a man reaches the peak of sexual desire) is made up of a lot of different things. One of its components is sperm. The sperm is the basic unit of conception. So, in a normal male ejaculate, there are anywhere between 20 and 400 million sperm. So, imagine that, millions! And all you need to get pregnant is one. Just one lucky sperm out of millions!
Following sexual intercourse, what normally happens is that a lot of the ejaculate does leak out. Yes, this is applicable to every woman. No exceptions. However, in some women, this might appear excessive. Notwithstanding this leakage, some of it, however, remains in the back of the vagina (in the posterior fornix) and an even smaller amount makes its way up through the cervix, into the uterus and down the fallopian tubes. It is here, in the fallopian tubes, that the sperm and egg meet. So, the bottom line is that you don't need to lie in bed with your legs up after intercourse to get pregnant and the fact that semen is leaking out afterwards, doesn't decrease your chances of conceiving.

FACTS.
The ejaculates is called semen
Sperm makes up only 5-10% of semen, others include fluid, vitamins, proteins etc. So most of what is flowing out is not sperm
The vagina has only one entrance, anything that goes in must surely come out including semen.
It is normal & expected for semen to flow out after sex
The volume of what flows out varies with volume of semen ejaculated.
IMMEDIATELY after ejaculation, ~35% of sperm leaves the semen & starts moving to neck of the womb
& others follow shortly
Research has shown that THE ONE SPERM that will become a baby can get to womb 1 minute.
Remaining semen can flow out within minutes/hours
The flow out time may be influenced by position & vaginal length.

If it is only one lucky sperm out of million's that is needed to fertilize the egg, then why low sperm count??

Yes, Only one sperm causes fertilization but that doesn't mean that only one sperm reaches at the point where fertilization occurs, many might reach but only one can penetrate the egg.
Just imagine this Movie scenario; If 100 men were sent to the evil forest to get a sacred egg, but only one would return AND If 10 are sent on the same mission: Now, there's a highly probability for one person to return from the 100 men than from the 10 men...
Same is applied to fertilization, most of the sperm released might be deformed, some might not be motile enough to move to the destiny land, some may not survive the acidic nature of the Vagina, only the strongest/most viable sperm reaches the fertilization point.
