Good nurses seem to have a sixth sense about patients. They use a combination of instinct and knowledge gained from experience to identify and apply those lessons to specific health situations. Nurses learn to pick up on little signs from the patients, and trust their gut feelings--not just monitor readouts--when necessary

JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A NURSE.

It is just because you are a nurse. Yes, it is because you are a nurse. When other people, even health workers, are sleeping on their beds, in the night, you are there walking up and down, in the midst of sick and helpless people, caring for them, it is just because you are a nurse.

When the situation is critical, and the relatives need their hope be revived, they talk to you, it is just because you are a nurse. When there is crisis between the couple, for the reason of childlessness, they invited you to cool their minds, it is just because you are a nurse.

When she's heavily pregnant, and does not know what to do, she calls your line often, it is just because you are a nurse. When there is pandemonium, because of epidemology, and they are all confused, they seek your counsel, it is just because you are a nurse.

When the battle is lost to cancer or stroke, and the eyes are closed in perpectual goodbye, you are expected to control tears, give the last office, and pet the relatives, it is just because you are a nurse.

Nurse are great, nurses are good, nurses are gentle, nurses are kind, nurses are caring, nurses are noble, nurses are bold, nurses are brave, nurses are briliant, nurses are beautiful, nurses are handsome !

On these I hail you: GREAT NIGERIAN NURSES !

Nurses can help calm patients by acknowledging their feelings. However, nurses should be careful to maintain boundaries and insist that patients treat them with the respect you deserve as their caregiver.
