Olufemi Iseyemi Folakemi :
This nurse tutor training should be scrapped or upgraded. If any one want to teach or tutor, they should go to the university. They can never grade a product higher than the producer. This is why nursing has not been properly graded. These are the things graduate nurses should fight for not auxiliary status of some and officers status of others
Ayomide Sweetestgal Salau:
The desire for post basic diplomas must be ruled out...we must upgrade this profession....all nursing specialties in other countries are run at masters level and PhD,even midwifery. nothing like Rsssss in developed countries. So NMCN must change the nursing curriculum and upgrade all nursing diplomas...

Sussan Igwe:
You spend 18 months in USA and you get a master's in women's health and midwifery.
You can be an independent practitioner.
You can chose to be on call for delivery of babies and get paid 300 dollars or more per delivery.
You can chose to be in regular employment and get paid 10,000 dollars and above per month.
Then you spend the same number of months for almost the same curriculum for the same midwifery in Nigeria you get a useless diploma.
Useless in the sense that you cant even use it abroad because it is called a diploma and has not valuation and you cant use it to practice.
You get paid useless extra twenty thousand Naira per month or thereabouts.
It is not even a degree but others your mates world over get a master's for it.
As ill informed as we are we jump up and rejoice at the crumbs while we were supposed to have three course meals.
We happily accept the numerous R's and many valueless diplomas rather than fight to have those specialties in the university where they will be post graduate courses and you get a master's degree rather than a diploma.
Some nurses have three R's which is not even equated to a degree.
Some of us are very comfortable in our poor mentality comfort zones. We really need to know how downtrodden they have kept us.
Someone has to open our eyes to see.
Give me Nursing and midwifery council and I will change the face of nursing in Nigeria.
